Cash award of ₹30,000 given to students with high scores

On the occasion of Independence Day celebrations on Thursday, Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy presented awards and medals to government servants and other meritorious candidates.

Mr. Narayanasamy presented President’s police medal for distinguished service to Superintendent of Police B. Ranganathan and Sub-Inspector of Police S. Jayabalan. The Chief Minister’s police medal for distinguished service was given to head constable, SIGMA Security, J. Jayaprakash and Chief Secretary’s trophy for best police station in the Union Territory was given to T. R Pattinam police station in Karaikal and the award was received by the Sub Inspector of Police, S. Perumal.

Financial assistance ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹35,000 was given to 44 police personnel attached to the Nettapakkam police station for being adjudged as one of the best 10 top ranking police stations in the country by Government of India.

Mr. Narayanasamy presented Chief Minister’s Gold Medal to senior flight cadet captain A. Ganesh Kumar, Education Minister’s Silver Medal to senior naval cadet P. Muthukumaran, Education Secretary’s Bronze Medal to senior naval cadet captain S. Vinitha, Chief Minister’s Gold Medal to junior naval cadet G. Poojasri, Education Minister’s Silver Medal to junior army cadet N. Mukunda and Education Secretary’s Bronze Medal to junior naval cadet V. Sathish Gayak.

He also distributed cash award of ₹30,000 each to S. Kishore of Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School and S. Snegapriya of Thiruvallur Government Girls Higher Secondary School for securing highest marks among SC students in the higher secondary board examinations.
