Class IX students put up an impressive science show

Students displayed a range of scientific exhibits at the recently-concluded Young Student Scientist Programme held at Jawahar Science College, Neyveli, under the auspices of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology.

In all, 83 students of Class IX from government schools in Cuddalore and Nagappatinam participated in the 15-day camp that began on December 24. R. Vikraman, director (Human Resources), NLCIL, who was the chief guest, urged students to understand more and evaluate the benefits and limitations of science and scientific applications as well as their impact on life and society.

He gave away certificates to the students.

V.T. Chandrasekaran, college principal; J. Alavandar, head of the department, Computer Science, and camp coordinator; S. Ganasambandam, Secretary, Jawahar Education Society (JES) and DGM, TS, NLCIL; and Hemant Kumar, ED/Mines, NLCIL, were present.
