Ms. Bedi in her address commended the recruitment board of the Police Department for conducting the recruitment in a just and transparent manner. “There was no controversy and no scam related to the recruitment drive,” she said.

‘Law & order is priority’

In his address, Mr. Narayanasamy said when his government assumed office it was a challenge to maintain law and order. The government was able to bring back normalcy on law and order front within a short period with the cooperation of all, he added. Making his intentions clear, he said rowdy elements would be dealt with in a stern manner.

A total of 303 recruits, including 173 India Reserve Battalion men, graduated from the Training College, after an impressive passing-out parade.

They were imparted lessons in cyber crime and use of online media, including Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter.

The recruits were attached to various government departments to get accustomed to governance.
