The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has extended the deadlines for submitting applications to professional courses.

The last date for submitting online applications has been extended to June 4.

A press note from the CENTAC chairman said the decision was made following complaints by several students that they had been unable to apply online in time due to the late announcement of the CBSE results.

As per the revised schedule, online application submission opens from midnight of June 2. The hard copies must reach CENTAC office on or before June 5.

No more extension of dates will be allowed since verification of applications, certificates and other procedures need to be completed in time, the press note said.

In a pres release, V. Balasubramanian, president of the Association said that in the previous year of admission over 50 students from neighbouring Tamil Nadu and other states had gained admission into professional courses under the Government quota in nexus with middlemen and a section of officials from the revenue department.

Hence, the Government should reconstitute the committee and include number of officials from the departments of Health and Higher Education to thoroughly check and verify the genuineness of certificates submitted by candidates to prevent any irregularities.

As per the revised schedule, online application submission opens from midnight of June 2
