The installation of the CCTV cameras form part of the Puducherry Police’s ‘Dial 100’ programme.

It includes establishment of a control room in Gorimedu, GPS installation in all police vehicles as well as the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network (CCTN) with its sophisticated features like Automated Fingerprint Identification System.

The scheme is funded by the Police Modernisation Fund of the Union Government.
