Burglars strike at two houses

Burglars broke into the house of a retired teacher at Reddiyarpalayam and took away 15 sovereigns of gold jewellery and silver articles. According to the police, Rajendiran, a resident of the house at Teachers Colony in Reddiyarpalayam, and his family had gone out on Saturday.

When Mr. Rajendiran returned home on Monday morning, he found the front door open and the house ransacked. He lodged a complaint with the Reddiyarpalayam police.

The police rushed Fingerprint experts and a sniffer dog to the spot.

In another case, thieves broke into the house of Suresh, an electric contractor of Kottupalayam in Puducherry, and took away 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery and ₹30,000 cash. He lodged a complaint with the D. Nagar police.
