An unidentified man aged around 35 years was found dead under mysterious circumstances with his throat slit at Veerampattinam near here on Wednesday.
Police sources said a group of fishermen from Veerampattinam were steering their boat at the sea mouth when they noticed the body floating in the sea.
The fishermen informed the police who retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the Puducherry government general hospital.
A case of suspicious death was registered and investigation is on. However, no arrest has been made.
