The risk of heart attack, its signs and symptoms were discussed at length at an awareness programme organised by the JIPMER Health for All Forum.

The session on ‘Heart Attack What you should know?,’ which was led by experts, also focussed on investigation procedures (angiogram in specific), coronary angioplasty and the need for prevention.

This was the 25th interactive session in a series of health education programmes, launched in May 2015 by JIPMER Director Dr. S. C. Parija.

The panel of experts were Dr. J. Venkatachalam, Assistant Professor, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Dr. Sakthivel SR, Department of Medicine and Dr. Sasinthar Rangasamy, Senior Resident, Department of Cardiology.

Dr. R. Jayalakshmi Medical Social Worker, Medical Social Services was moderator.

Around 200 people, including students from various colleges, patients and JIPMER staff participated.

The session was webcast to all medical colleges of South India.
