March 20, 2014 01:09 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:26 pm IST - PUDUCHERRY:

The tussle between the All India N.R. Congress (AINRC) and the Pattali Makkal Katchi over Puducherry seat will be solved amicably, said Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, founder-president of AINRC.

Speaking to reporters here after declaring open the AINRC’s election office here on Wednesday, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party had been carrying on talks with alliance partners. He hoped that a concrete solution would be arrived at shortly.

When his attention was drawn to the PMK’s decision on not giving up the Puducherry seat, Mr. Rangasamy said differences were bound to happen in alliance politics. But, it would also be resolved.

Asked whether he was in contact with the PMK leadership, Mr. Rangasamy said that the BJP was the right party to answer this question. BJP president Rajnath Singh was expected to visit Chennai on Thursday. But, he had not received any official communication regarding a meeting with the BJP chief.

Earlier, Mr. Rangasamy introduced AINRC candidate R. Radhakrishnan to party workers.
