Two techies from Maharashtra drowned in the Paradise beach at Nonankuppam near here on Saturday. The names of the dead were given as Navaneet Kaur (24) and Abhit Tripathy (24), employees of Cognizant Technology Solutions in Maharashtra.
Police sources said Navaneet Kaur, Abhit Tripathy, and Ansul, all hailing from Maharashtra, ventured into the area that was restricted for tourists. The three were in waters when they were caught by strong currents and pulled inside. Hearing their cries, fishermen managed to pull out Ansul while Navaneet Kaur and Abhit Tripathy were drowned. A case has been registered.
