Much of India’s silk sari repertoire is on display at an ongoing exhibition at the NT Mahal on East Coast Road, Ellaipillaichavadi.
Various silk sari weavers, handloom clusters and silk co-operative societies are showcasing their products at the ‘Silk India 2017’ hosted by Hastashilipi.
“The aim of the event is to make accessible the products directly to consumers without a middleman,” said Hastashilpi organiser T.Abhinand.
Arani silk saris, crepe and georgette silk saris, chiffon silk saris, tassar silk sarees and suit, Kanjeevaram, Dharmavaram silk saris, wedding saris and designer saris are on show. The products also include jute silk saris, Dhaka silk saris, handloom silk cotton saris, Uppada, Gadwal, Paithani, Mangalagiri and Pochampalli silk saris.
The exhibition draws to a close on Monday.
