19,290 families to get fishing ban subsidy

Each family will receive ₹5,500 in cash

Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao inaugurated the disbursement of fishing ban subsidy for fishermen in the Union Territory.

According to a press release, 19,290 fishermen families in the Union Territory will be entitled to ₹5,500 in cash after the 61-day ban between April 15 and June 14. A total of ₹10.60 crore was spent. MLAs T. Djeamourthy, A. Anbalagan, N. Dhanavelu and Director of Fisheries, R. Munusamy were present.
