Motorists in the city can now worry less while driving at night as the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Downtown along with the traffic police here has decided to use reflectors on barricades in the city.
The club as part of their traffic awareness programme donated six rolls of reflective tapes to the traffic police. Each tape is of 50 m long and costs ₹ 5,000. Reflective stickers have come in yellow, black and white shades, said C. Ayyarsamy, Inspector of Police.
The affixing of stickers began at 11.30 a.m. with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic), S. Saravanan, sticking a reflector on a barricade at LIC road.
