A 44-year-old woman ended her life by jumping off the terrace of a building near Metro Cinemas in Marine Lines at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The police said Rupa Shah jumped off the five-storey Ramlal Mansion, where she lived with her family. Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kadam, Azad Maidan police station, said, “Rupa committed suicide while her husband and her in-laws were at a function and her 13-year-old son was studying in his room.”
‘No suicide note’
She sustained severe head injuries was declared dead on admission at GT Hospital. A case of suicide has been registered at Azad Maidan police station. The police did not find a suicide note on the spot.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and further enquiry is under way,” said a police official.
