Woman found murdered in Ghansoli flat

A 63-year-old woman was found murdered in her house in Ghansoli on Monday. The incident is suspected to have taken place between 7 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. Chandrakala Yaswante Bhaiyye lived with her husband on the third floor of Sidhivinayak housing society in Sector 9.

Giridhar Gore, police inspector, Rabale police station, said, “Her husband, a trader at the APMC vegetable market, used to leave home early. He had gone to work on Monday and when he returned by 10.45 a.m., he found his wife murdered.” The police said when the husband used his keys and entered the one-room-kitchen apartment, he found his wife lying in the hall with three stab marks on the neck.

The police suspect she was murdered between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., as her daughter-in-law, who lives on the fifth floor of the same building, received no response when she tried calling her at that time. The police are probing the role of her son as he has gone missing after the murder. He had left home saying he was going to buy milk. Neither did he buy milk nor did he return home.
