Mumbai: Warner Brothers moved the vacation Bench of the Bombay High Court on Monday alleging that the upcoming film, Guest in London , made by Panorama Studios, is in continuation of Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge made by them.
Justice B.P. Colabawalla was hearing a plea filed by the Warner Brothers Pictures (India) Pvt Ltd., which alleged that Guest in London, starring Paresh Rawal and Tanvi Azmi, is being passed off as a continuation of or having a connection with Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge .
Brothers has alleged that it is in an agreement with Studios and others, which states that the word, atithi, will not be used anywhere as they have rights over it. But Studios has breached the agreement, and used the word in Guest in London. Besides, the background score of the movie has athithi . Brothers sought a restrain order from the court so that Studios and others cannot issue any public or promotional material with reference to Guest in London .
The advocate appearing for Studios said there is no urgency in the matter for it to be heard during vacation as the movie will not be released before June 15. The court posted the matter before a regular Bench after the court reopens on June 6.
