Varun Grover latest to face accusation

With more women calling out comedians for their misconduct, Varun Grover was accused of sexual harassment on Tuesday. An account, claiming to be his peer from the Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, accused the comedian, screenwriter, and lyricist in regards to an incident occurred in 2001.

Mr. Grover categorically denied all claims in a Twitter post with a multiple-point statement requesting the accuser to reveal her identity to BHU’s independent investigative panel.

Meanwhile, the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star, which will begin on October 25, has dropped two films from their line-up: AIB’s Chintu Ka Birthday and Rajat Kapoor’s Kadakh. The decision was announced on Twitter from the festival’s handle.

Furthermore, Hotstar cancelled On Air with AIB’s third season and discontinued Better Life Foundation, which stars comedians Naveen Richard and Sumukhi Suresh along with sexual harassment accused Utsav Chakraborty. Then a second allegation surfaced against actor Mr. Kapoor for allegedly forcing himself on a 15-year-old girl and repeatedly attempting to kiss her.

Gurgaon comedian Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, who was accused of date rape, released a statement on Monday, where he denied the allegations on Twitter. “While I issued a well meaning apology, intended to convey my regret at any statement or behaviour of mine which may have made any person, from any background uncomfortable, I think it is absolutely essential to emphasize that the allegations of lewd talks or comments allegedly made by me during an interview or the allegations of “date-rape, are absolutely untrue and false,” he tweeted.
