Traffic shut after vacant building caves in

July 13, 2019 01:23 am | Updated 01:23 am IST - Mumbai

A portion of Babasaheb Ambedkar Road had to be shut for traffic after a vacant MHADA building caved in near ITC Grand Central hotel in Parel around 7.30 p.m. on Friday. The three-storey Hamid building was being demolished for redevelopment at the time.

Since it was likely to collapse onto the adjoining Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, traffic was shut from Parel to Byculla.

Police and ward staff was on site, and no injury was reported.
