The student community at TISS continues to actively support relief measures and rescue operations in Kerala. Between August 16 and 18, it collected ₹1.82 lakh, which was deposited in the CMDRF, along with materials to be shipped.

Initially students collected sanitary napkins, diapers and medicines. However, after assessing the needs, they started collecting biscuits and bottled water, which were shipped to Kerala along with donations from other centers.

Dr. Shareef Mohammad, a student at the forefront of the collection drive, said, “We urge people to donate to the CMDRF and send essential medicines, especially anti-fungal medicines.”

The TISS Students’ Union has joined the drive and students are approaching residents in the vicinity for collection. The next date of dispatching the material is yet to be decided.
