Mumbai: Siddhant Ganore, the 21-year-old who allegedly murdered his mother by stabbing her nine times, has been sent to judicial custody till June 16.
Siddhant murdered his mother, Deepali, (42) on May 23 at their residence in Santacruz (East). He wrote, “Tired of her. Catch me and hang me,” and left for Jodhpur.
The court was informed that the knife which used to stab the victim and the blood-stained clothes of the accused found in the bathroom have been confiscated. Blood samples and fingerprints have been taken and will be sent to the forensic lab in Kalina.
Talking to The Hindu , Assistant Public Prosecutor Ashok Medhe said, “The investigation is still on and the charge sheet is yet to be filed. The boy shows no expression on being presented before the magistrate and inquired about the crime.”
Siddhant was interrogated in custody, but showed no emotion, said sources at the Vakola Police Station. A constable has been appointed to watch over Siddhanth, as in such cases the guilt may set in suddenly, leading to drastic steps, they said.
The Mumbai Police, while seeking his remand, told the court that Siddhant killed his mother as he was tired of being pestered by her and was weary of his parents’ fighting.
