Schools, colleges to be closed in Mumbai on August 5

The Maharashtra government on Sunday declared a holiday in all schools and colleges in Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, and Palghar following forecast of heavy rains for next 48 hours.

An advisory issued on Sunday also said State government employees will be allowed to reach office late.

“While all emergency services will be running on Monday, it is requested to citizens to not venture outside house, unless absolutely necessary,” said the advisory.
