Resident doctors threaten State-wide strike from Aug 7

The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has threatened a State-wide strike from Wednesday demanding regularity and hike in stipend and a government resolution on leaves for maternity and tuberculosis.

“If our demands are not fulfilled, we will withdraw all our routine and emergency services,” a statement from MARD said. They said doctors in many hospitals were not receiving stipends on time. Moreover, the stipend in the State is lower compared to many others. There is also no government document which specifies maternity and tuberculosis leaves for resident doctors.
