The Khar police are yet to take action even two days after a Bandra-based businesswoman registered a complaint against Gurmeet Singh, alias Shera, actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard.
The complainant, who runs an NGO in the city, alleged that Shera threatened and abused her for supporting Zubair Khan, a contestant of Bigg Boss, which is hosted by Salman Khan.
The complainant had approached the police on Saturday saying that Shera called her up and threatened her with gang rape. On Monday, Senior Police Inspector Ramchandra Jadhav said no action had been initiated in the matter.
Mr. Jadhav said the details of the number, alleged to have been used by Shera to threaten the victim, had not been obtained. He was non-committal on whether Shera would be called for inquiries in the case. Mr. Jadhav said, “The investigation is on. We cannot say anything now.”
The complainant alleged that the police were purposely delaying the investigation. She said, “Ever since I filed the complaint, I have been getting calls from fans and supporters of Salman Khan on the helpline number of my NGO. When I tried to bring this to Mr. Jadhav’s attention, he told me to shut down the helpline. I am being harassed and abused daily and the police have been extremely passive.” Mr. Jadhav, however, denied the complainant’s claims.
Earlier this month, Zubair filed a non-cognisable complaint against Salman Khan after he was evicted from the Bigg Boss house. He in the complaint filed with Lonavala City police, he accused the actor of using foul language.
Zubair then approached the complainant for help in taking action against the actor. She helped him file complaints against Salman Khan, the organisers and the channel airing the show.
