A high priest of the Parsi community from Mumbai, Dasturji K. M. Jamaspasa passed away in London on Sunday. He was one of senior most priests in the community known for his knowledge and approach towards all the religious matters.

Jamapasa was the head priest of the Anjuman Atash Behram located near the Princess Street Junction. He was one of the dominant voices against the Metro tunnel passing underneath the fire temple.

“He was a guide and a father figure to the community. He was a high priest for more than 50 years now”, said Khurshed Dastoor, a high priest from Udvada. “His last rites will be performed in Mumbai”, he added.
