Ordered to trace Sheena’s phone, says policeman

A police official, who deposed in the Sheena Bora murder case, said that Additional Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti had asked him to trace the location of a mobile number allegedly belonging to Sheena Bora.

Nitin Alakhmoore, police inspector with the Mumbai Crime Branch, said Mr. Bharti, who was investigating the case, had called him following Sheena’s murder on April 24, 2012. Mr. Alakhmoore said, “ACP Bharti told me that the number belonged to a relative of Indrani and Peter Mukerjea.” He said the phone was switched off and he could not retrieve the location. He said three days later, Mr. Bharti called him and said that Mr. and Mrs. Mukerjea’s relative had been located.
