Dial 4242, Mumbai’s first app-based ambulance aggregating platform, kicked off on Thursday. The app allows users to book an ambulance within seconds. Over 125 private ambulances have signed up with Dial 4242.
Book hospital beds too
Nilesh Mahambre, chairman and co-founder of the app, said, “From April, we have done 100 plus live runs and tied-up with Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road. We hope to help users book hospital beds and rooms soon too. We are building a dashboard for hospitals to track their ambulances.”
The service will be available in South Mumbai, the western suburbs, and from Virar to Thane, and aims to cover the entire city by June. Other companies that exist in the same space include StanPlus in Hyderabad, the Uber-backed Ambee, and the Lifehover app.
Jeetendra Lalwani, director and co-founder, said, “We have a call centre. People can also call and book an ambulance. We charge an amount as commission for each trip.”
Service gets busy
When an user tried booking an ambulance at 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, a message popped up: “All ambulance services are busy! Kindly contact our helpdesk to book the nearest ambulance.”
