The Bombay High Court on Monday refused to grant relief to former NCP Minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s son and former NCP MLA Pankaj Bhujbal in a summons issued to him by the Charities Commissioner. Mr Bhujbal was summoned by the Charities Commissioner for an alleged fraud at the Mumbai Education Trust. Mr Bhujbal challenged the order and moved the court.

The commissioner had summoned Mr Bhujbal, one of the trustees, to appear last week. Mr Bhujbal challenged the order in the HC. Bhujbal’s chartered accountant and founder trustee of MET had filed a complaint before the Charities Commissioner alleging a fraud of Rs 177 crore.
