Govt. cornered on tainted ministers

July 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - Mumbai:

The State government was on Wednesday cornered by the Opposition over the issue of corruption by Cabinet ministers and the charges of misappropriation of funds in purchase of raincoats for schoolchildren.

Leader of the Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said, “Some of the ministers recently inducted into the Cabinet have corruption charges. While one of them is charged by the CBI, another is involved in a Rs. 36-crore bank scam.” Speaker Haribhau Bagde said, “It is necessary to send notices to those ministers and therefore you must name them. You must be specific in your allegations against ministers.”
