The Mumbai police is studying the CCTV footage of the suburban Mumbai night club where five Navy cadets allegedly molested a young woman.

The five Class IV employees of the Navy visited a pub in Bandra on Saturday night. One of them passed a lewd remark on the victim who was at the pub with her husband and a male friend. An argument ensued between the two groups and the victim complained to the bouncers of the pub. The cadets were then thrown out of the pub.

Enraged, the men followed the victim who hailed an autorickshaw. The five followed them from Bandra to Borivali, nearly the entire stretch of the Western Express Highway. The victim called the police helpline number after which they were stopped and the five were arrested, the police said.

Maheshwar Mahendra Singh (26), Tirthlal Dilpanath (25), Ashish Jai Kishan (29), Shyam Bhandare (29), and Chandan Mishra (26) were produced in a holiday court on Sunday and remanded in police custody till April 29.

Police said the Navy had sought details from them.
