A day after lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar accused the producers of PM Narendra Modi , a biopic of the Prime Minister, of falsely crediting him on the film’s poster, producer Sandip Singh said on Saturday they had used old songs written by Mr. Akhtar in the film.

In a statement, Mr. Singh said that as T-series was the official music partner of the film, they have taken two songs, ‘ Ishwar Allah ’ from 1947:Earth and ‘ Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon ’ from Dus, written by Mr. Akhtar and lyricist Sameer Anjaan respectively. “Thus we have given them [the] due credits,” Mr. Singh said.

Mr. Akhtar had tweeted on Friday, “[I] am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it.” Mr. Anjaan had also express his shock on social media, and denied his involvement with the biopic. The poster also credits lyricists Prasoon Joshi, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay, Sardaraa, Parry G. and Lavraj.
