A man was caught red-handed while molesting a girl outside Churchgate station on Saturday night. Passers-by roughed up the man and handed him over to the police.
The man, who was in an inebriated state, allegedly touched the young girl inappropriately while she was walking in front of him towards the station. The victim immediately raised an alarm and attracted the attention of people. Within minutes, a mob surrounded the man, who repeatedly kept apologising for his actions. A couple of people then started assaulting the man.
A patrolling unit of the Azad Maidan police arrived at the scene and took the man and the victim to the police station for inquiries.
