Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Friday decided to hear petitions seeking to quash a lower court order banning media from reporting the Sohrabuddin Sheikh trial, on January 23.

Justice Revati Mohite Dere was hearing two petitions, one filed by nine journalists and the other by the Brihanmumbai Union of Journalists. Senior counsel Mihir Desai submitted a compilation of judgements, and the court directed that notices be issued to all respondents. CBI lawyer Sandesh Patil said the agency has no stand on the issue.
