Five women employees of a company that exports fish were hospitalised after a gas leak at 7 p.m. on Monday. All five women dealt with export of fish at Naik Ocean Exports Pvt Ltd. The residents of Dongricha pada in Taloja MIDC vacated the village soon after the ammonia gas leak. Three employees were later discharged after treatment.

“The fire officers reached the spot and confirmed it was safe to go back to village. In 2010, an FIR was lodged against the company after a similar incident led to the hospitalisation of close to 40 people. We are investigating and yet to register any complaint,” senior police inspector Ajay Landge from Taloja police station said.
