A fire broke out in Mumbai's Milan subway area late on Wednesday night, with no casualties reported.

The incident happened near Bombay Tyres in Santacruz West minutes before midnight. Dry refuse and decorative material stored in an open playground caught fire.

Four fire engines and six jumbo tankers were sent for the level II (minor) call. Even as people took to social media to share videos of the fire, the fire brigade has declared the situation to be under control.

The fire was visible from suburban locals as well, alarming people.
