Mumbai: A fire broke out in a four-storey Army building in Colaba on Saturday evening. Fire Brigade officials said the blaze was reported at around 7 p.m.

Four fire engines and three jumbo tankers were rushed to the spot at around 7.15 p.m. and helped bring the blaze under control. “It was a Level II emergency. No casualties have been reported. The four-storey building is full of smoke,” Chief Fire Officer Prabhat Rahangdale said.

“As a standard procedure, electric supply has been cut off to restrict the fire from spreading further, in case it was caused by an electrical mishap. Damage is being assessed in two office rooms,” a defence spokesperson said.
