Kicking off party preparations for the upcoming elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked all the Ministers of the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make a presentation of five major decisions taken by their respective departments before him and to share information about it with his office by August 31.
As per directions, these decisions must not be of administrative nature, rather, it has to have an impact on the people of the State. The presentation should contain the scope of the said decision, number of beneficiaries, visible impact of the particular decision and money spent for the same.
The Chief Minister’s orders to the Ministers follow the directions given out by party president Amit Shah who was in Mumbai last month. Mr. Shah had asked all MLAs and MPs of the party to reach out to citizens and publicise the schemes announced by the State and Central government.
Additionally, each presentation should contain a comparison of the decision with a similar one, if taken, in the previous regime. The presentation must also explain why this decision is better than that taken by the former government and how it has benefited the people more. The entire presentation should be completed within 15 minutes.
According to sources, not only Ministers, but even secretaries of all departments will have to prepare their own ‘report card’ for the presentation. Mr. Fadnavis has especially asked for the status report on all ‘Centre-sponsored’ schemes.
The secretaries of the departments which are beneficiaries of the Centre’s funds will have to present the status of utilisation of the money received from Delhi, provide information on whether they have applied for more funds and the reasons behind doing so, and follow-up from the department.
