Theatre: Loretta

Set in the 70s on a river island in Goa, this is the story of widower Antonio Moraes who happens to be a wealthy landlord. The plot revolves around his struggle to hold on to Konkan culture, even as his son Rafael rejects it. However, Rafael’s girlfriend Loretta, shares Antonio’s need for holding onto his own heritage. Written by Pundalik Naik and Milind Dhaimade, the play explores language politics and a father-son relationship. Presented by Aadyam Theatre, the play has been directed by thespian Sunil Shanbag. Some of the actors who will be performing this evening are Rozzlin Pereira and Danish Husain. Tickets are priced between Rs 300 and Rs 1000
