Film screening: Lolita

As part of its ongoing Womanhood Festival, Osianama at Liberty brings to you, four versions of one story, Vladimir Nabokov’s cult novel Lolita . The novel is notable for its controversial subject. The protagonist and unreliable narrator, a 38-year-old literature professor Humbert Humbert, is obsessed with his 12-year-old stepdaughter Dolores Haze and gets sexually involved with her. The story has been made into films by various directors over the years. The first screening of day will begin with The Virgin Spring by Ingmar Bergman at 1pm, Lolita by Stanley Kubrick at 4.30 pm and Lolita by Adrian Lyne at 9 pm.
