On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Naval Ratings Mutiny, the book Mutiny of the Innocents by BC Dutt will be launched.

The author, who was a junior officer in the navy, provides a first-person account of a forgotten episode in the history of India’s struggle against foreign rule. The Royal Indian Navy uprising (described by British historians as a naval mutiny), took place on February 18, 1946, at the Bombay port. Speakers at the evening will include retired Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat, filmmaker Anand Patwardhan and Dr GG Parekh.
