Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for his histrionic skills, but now for the first time he will be seen dancing on screen. Siddiqui will put on the dancing shoes for the Tiger Shroff-starrer Munna Michael .

The actor will be soon attending dance workshops as shooting for the movie begins in September.

Munna Michael is a romantic-musical in which Shroff plays the titular role of a boy from the streets who idolises pop icon Michael Jackson. The film’s director, Sabbir Khan, says Siddiqui is an amazing actor and his skills should be put to the test. “You will see him dance in the film. No one has seen him dance before. He is a phenomenal actor and that is why you need to challenge him and give him a role which is interesting,” he says.

Munna Michael will be Khan’s third film with Shroff after Heropanti and Baaghi. However, this is the first time Siddiqui will be working with the director.

Khan says Siddiqui won’t be playing an outright negative character in the movie.

“It is not a negative role. It has got shades of white, black, grey and everything. It is a very layered character which he will be playing.”

Khan says, “I am a huge fan of his. It is a very important part, it is a challenging role. I saw him in the role and offered him the part. I am excited to work with him and he is even more excited. He absolutely loved the part.”

The team is currently working on Siddiqui’s look in the film. The hunt is also on for the lead actress. Khan says he wants to launch a fresh face. — PTI
