Curated by activist Ela Bhatt, this touring exhibition offers a glimpse into a facet of the Indian freedom struggle not often dwelled upon. Known as Motaben, Anasuyaben Sarabhai is remembered for leading the strike of mill workers in Ahmedabad alongside Mahatma Gandhi. While it has gone down in history that the strike helped create the Textile Labour Association in 1920, it has been forgotten that Motaben led a strike herself in 1917, before Gandhi’s involvement. On till July 20.
