Starting Monday, citizens can get answers for their queries about the Development Plan (DP) and Development Control Regulations (DCR) from the DP assistance cell set up by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
June 21 deadline
Officers concerned will be available at the BMC headquarters between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on working days. Citizens have time till June 21 to submit objections and suggestions regarding the modifications in the DP.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis signed off on the DP on April 24, and a formal notification was issued on May 8. The gazette notification, however, was published only on Wednesday. The period to submit responses to the DCR has started with the gazette, but that for the DP is yet to begin as the plan hasn’t been published.
By post
People can send their objections to the Deputy Director of Town Planning, Greater Mumbai, on this address: ‘E’ block, ENSA Hutment, Azad Maidan, Mumbai. The officer is supposed to hear all genuine objections.
The sanctioned part of the DP, which has already gone through public scrutiny and has been cleared by the government, will come into effect in a month.
