NCP office burgled in Pune

A gang of dacoits broke into the party office of the Nationalist Congress Party in Pune in the wee hours of Tuesday, assaulting an NCP office bearer and two other persons in the process.

The burglars also made away with more than Rs. two lakh in cash.

According to the police, the robbers, after beating the victims in the NCP office located in the Pimpri Chinchwad Township, dumped them in the bathroom and after siphoning off Rs. 35,000 in cash.

The thieves then targeted seven other offices in the same building, stealing Rs. two lakh in cash from an LIC office housed there.

No arrests have been made so far and a probe is on.
