Central Railway (CR) has planned additional services on the Central and Harbour lines to cater to the rush ahead of Ganapati immersion. There will also be no megablock on any CR line or on Western Railway on Sunday, the immersion day.
CR will run two midnight special services every day till Sunday, between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kalyan on the main line and from CSMT to Panvel on the Harbour line. Both services will depart from CSMT at 1.30 a.m. and halt at all stations.
On immersion day, CR has planned eight extra services, four each on Central and Harbour lines, in the early hours of Monday. On the Central line, two services will leave from CSMT at 1.30 a.m. and 2.30 a.m. for Kalyan and Thane respectively. Similarly, a special service for CSMT will depart from Kalyan at 1 a.m. and from Thane at 2 a.m. on Monday.
On the Harbour line, CR has will run two services in either direction between CSMT and Panvel. The services from CSMT will depart at 1.30 a.m. and 2.45 a.m., and those from Panvel will depart at 1 a.m. and 1.40 a.m.
