The Maharashtra Association of Practising Pathologists and Microbiologists has written to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner about the BMC’s lack of data on laboratories.

According to Dr. Prasad Kulkarni, executive member of the association, several RTI applications filed with the BMC have not yielded satisfactory answers. “We have asked for details of registered laboratories, their owners, qualification of the owner, and name of the signing pathologist,” Dr. Kulkarni said, adding that the State has asked all the civic bodies to maintain such data.
