BMC to get 275 patient monitor machines

The BMC plans to purchase 275 Chinese-make multi para patient monitor machines for civic hospitals for over ₹12 crore.

These machines simultaneously monitor blood pressure, ECG, oxygen saturation, respiration and body temperature.

The bulk of these monitors — 105 machines — will be used in KEM Hospital. LTMG Hospital in Sion will get 39 machines, Nair Hospital will get 41 machines, Dr. R.N. Cooper Hospital will get 20 machines, while Kasturba Hospital will get 30 machines.

Manufactured by Shenzen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co. Ltd, China, the machines will be shipped and set up by the contractors.

The municipal corporation also plans to get 14 Korean-make ultrasound colour Doppler machines for ₹30 lakh for the civic hospitals.

The proposals for both these purchases will be presented for approval before the civic Standing Committee during its meeting on Wednesday.
