Mumbai recorded the season’s coldest night so far at 21.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, although the day remained warm at 34.2 degrees Celsius.
The city experienced rain on several days in November, unusual for this time of the year. The month’s rainfall broke the all-time November rainfall record, largely due to two cyclones. Since November 10, daytime temperatures started climbing, with Mumbaikars complaining of October heat in November.
On Monday, the city saw a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius, while on Tuesday it was at 34.2 degrees Celsius. On November 16, minimum temperature was at 23.8 degrees, followed by 23.7 degrees the next day, 24 degrees on Sunday night and 21.4 degrees on the night between Monday and Tuesday.
The all-time record for lowest minimum temperature for the month was on November 19, 1950, at 13.3 degrees Celsius. Last year, the coldest November day was on the 16th, at 19.2 degrees Celsius.
