Mumbai hotel cancels show featuring AIB Knockout participant

February 05, 2015 12:55 am | Updated December 04, 2021 11:32 pm IST - MUMBAI:

In the midst of the controversy over the AIB Roast show, South Mumbai-based Hotel Cheval abruptly cancelled its show featuring Aditi Mittal, a stand-up comedian who was a participant in AIB Knockout.

“We’re sad to announce that tonight’s edition of Wednesday Wisecrackers with Aditi Mittal is cancelled. You can still drop by for a fun time,” announced the hotel on its social media.

While no reason was offered, the possibility of the hotel being targeted by political parties is said to be the reason behind the decision. Ms. Mittal was not available for comment.

Police had initiated an inquiry on a written complaint by Akhilesh Tiwari, president of the Brahman Ekta Seva Sanstha, that participants in an episode of AIB Roast show passed abusive remarks.
