The APMC police have arrested a 27-year-old Turbhe resident for killing a 70-year-old woman at her home in Sector 22 in Turbhe last week.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Atmaram Bansode, an agent who made Aadhaar cards and gazettes. A police officer said, “Suman Hande had paid the accused to make a gazette. She called him up and abused him when he began delaying the work. Irked by her scolding, he and his friend killed her and robbed her ornaments and mobile phone.”

Mr. Bansode fled to Surat and then to his home town in Jalgaon, where he was arrested on Friday night. The APMC police are now on the lookout for his accomplice.
