350 kg of suspected beef seized in Tilak Nagar

The Tilak Nagar police on Thursday intercepted a car suspected to be carrying 350 kg of beef and seized the meat. The police said a Maruti Swift was heading for Dongri from Srirampur in Ahmednagar district when they intercepted it at 10 p.m. at Chheda Nagar junction.

An officer said, “We were informed by Vishwa Hindu Seva Sangh workers that the car was carrying a large amount of beef.” Senior Police Inspector Sushil Kamble said, “We have sent the meat samples to the forensic sciences laboratory in Kalina. The reports are expected to be submitted within a week.”
